Getting a second copy for someone else in the family
Every order, digital or canvas, comes with the high-resolution digital file, and that file is yours to share, print, or hand off to a family member who wants their own copy. What we do not have is a discounted "reprint" product or a gift certificate, so getting a family member their own canvas through us specifically still means a new order at the standard price. Here is what that actually looks like, honestly, both what works today and what does not exist yet.
Can I get a second copy of a pet portrait for someone else?
The digital file is yours to share as-is, or take to your own print shop. A second canvas made through us is a new order at standard pricing. There is no reprint discount and no gift certificate.

What you can actually do today
Share the digital file itself
The high-resolution file you receive is yours to keep. Email it, text it, or hand a family member the file directly, and they have the image itself, the same one behind any canvas printed from it.
Take it to your own print shop
Because the file is high-resolution, it prints cleanly at sizes well beyond what most home printers or phone photo labs handle. A family member can order a print, canvas or otherwise, from a local or online print shop using that file, on their own schedule and budget.
Place a new order for a canvas from this studio
If a family member wants their own gallery-wrapped canvas made through us specifically, rather than a print shop copy, that goes through the normal order flow: a fresh order, a proof, and approval, at standard pricing for the size they choose.
The honest limits
There is no discounted "reprint" price
As of today, we don't have a separate reduced rate for a second canvas of a portrait we already made. A second canvas through us is priced the same as any canvas order.
There isn't a one-click way to reorder an approved piece
Our order flow starts from a photo upload and a new proof. If you want a second canvas made from the exact artwork you already approved, rather than a fresh proof cycle, contact us directly. It's genuinely worth confirming with support before ordering again, since this page won't promise a mechanism we haven't verified.
There is no gift-certificate product
If the plan was to buy something a family member redeems later for their own portrait, that product doesn't exist here today. The workaround is ordering the portrait yourself and either giving the finished piece or the file, or telling them what you're covering and letting them order it directly.
The simplest path, in practice
For most families, the easiest route is the digital file. Whoever ordered it sends the file to whoever else wants a copy, and that person decides what to do with it: print it small at home, order a canvas from their own print shop, or hold onto it. It costs nothing extra and needs no new order.
If what the family member actually wants is our gallery-wrapped canvas specifically, not any canvas, that means a new order on their end or yours, going through the same proof and approval steps as the original. It is not instant, and it is not discounted, and we would rather say that plainly than let it seem simpler than it is.
Questions
My sibling and I both want a canvas of the same dog. Do we split one order?
No, each canvas is its own order and its own price. What you can split is the cost between yourselves outside of checkout, since there's no built-in way to divide one order between two people.
Does the family member need the original photo to order their own copy?
Not necessarily. They can use the same digital file you already have as their starting point for a print-shop order, since it's high-resolution enough to work with directly. If they want a new canvas made through us, our order flow asks for a photo, so using the same source photo you originally sent is the straightforward path.
Is the $20 additional-pet fee the same thing as a second copy?
No, and this is a common mix-up. The $20 fee adds a second pet into the same single portrait, composed together. It has nothing to do with getting a second, separate copy of an existing portrait for someone else.
Can I just order two canvases in one order to get them together?
Two different sizes or two copies of the same artwork would currently need two separate orders. There is no multi-canvas single order option for identical or near-identical pieces today.
